Hello, Doer of the word!

*If you’d like to be our podcast guest, introduce us to someone you’d love to see on the show, or volunteer in helping us encourage more people to take action on inspired invitations from prophets and apostles, please reply to this email and let us know.*

Welcome to General Conference+!

GC+ is a highlight reel of messages from the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles they shared anywhere outside of Conference last week. We look at social media, magazines, devotionals, temple dedications, YouTube, press releases, and more to find the latest inspiring and important teachings you won't want to miss.

The Church cross-posts the same content on multiple platforms. We’ll link to only one instance of each resource, usually via Instagram or YouTube, but you can easily find the same thing on Facebook or X, if you prefer.

Find a resource that inspires you and share it with someone. Here we go!

Our Favorites from Last Week

President Oaks | In a worldwide devotional for young adults, President Oaks made a brief appearance, extending these invitations: “I invite you to consistently attend Institute. I also encourage you to invite friends to share in these same blessings.”

He promised many blessings for doing this, including, finding a haven against the noise and confusion of the world; being able to distinguish truth from error; building your relationships with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ; finding direction in life; meeting spiritual guides, friends, and potentially your spouse; preparing yourself to love and lead like the Savior; and that “your time in Institute will bring the Savior’s peace, joy, and divine love.”

Elder Kearon | Following President Oaks’ invitations quoted above, Elder Kearon added that he’d had lunch with the Prophet before the devotional and asked what more he’d like to tell young adults. He responded with another invitation. “He said that he’d like you to think about what kind of world you want to pass on to your children.” | Elder Kearon had young adults intentionally sing a hymn poorly, then improve gradually as an object lesson | The beauty of the atonement of Christ. | Bringing your faith to the foreground in your life so it can eclipse your anxieties. | “Daddy, do not leave me here.” You’ve got to read this powerful story and how Elder Kearon ties it to temple work.

President Christofferson | How to overcome lingering feelings of guilt and shame after repenting. (Instagram reel or 5-min YouTube video).

Elder Soares | While in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Elder Soares taught how Discovering Christ Brings Peace and Purpose and shared how this helped him through hard times, including losing loved ones.

Extra Credit

For you overachievers, the following resources might also pique your interest!

President Uchtdorf | Hopeful message of what he learned by flying through bad weather into sunlight.

Elder Cook | This For the Strength of Youth article, “How Can I Live My Life with Optimism?” contains helpful tips for feeling joy during hard times.

Elder Rasband | This one’s not specific to Elder Rasband, but I learned in an article about his visit with NBA player Egor Dëmin that there are 91 flags flown at Temple Square on any given day that are rotated to cover 181 nations. The flags symbolize ”the global nature of the Church of Jesus Christ, its commitment to be a friend to all nations, and the belief that the gospel of Jesus Christ will grow to fill the earth (see Daniel 2:35).”

Want to Sponsor or Advertise with GCA?

Reach out and we'll see whether it's a good fit. Clay and Mitch are volunteers dedicated to creating free, faith-building content. It's a labor of love that we treat like a missionary calling, but expenses add up and the time commitment is VERY high. We've got BIG ideas for increasing our reach, improving video quality, and creating useful products for busy Latter-day Saints.

If you, someone you know, or an organization you're aware of are interested in supporting GCA and helping us grow, please email us. We'd love to talk!
