Hello, Doer of the word!

Welcome to General Conference+!

GC+ is a highlight reel of messages from the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles they shared anywhere outside of Conference last week. We look at social media, magazines, devotionals, temple dedications, YouTube, press releases, and more to find the latest inspiring and important teachings you won't want to miss.

The Church cross-posts the same content on multiple platforms. We’ll link to only one instance of each resource, usually via Instagram or YouTube, but you can easily find the same thing on Facebook or X, if you prefer.

Find a resource that inspires you and share it with someone. Here we go!

Our Favorites from Last Week

President Oaks | A few more reels are out now, hitting key points from his excellent message last week at BYU: 4 Impressions. 2 Methods of gaining knowledge.

President Uchtdorf | In a post following a visit to the MTC, President Uchtdorf said, “Servants of the Lord throughout time have accomplished remarkable things because of their faith in Jesus Christ—not because they were powerful, but because they trusted God and His power. … Faith produces miracles. This … means that we trust God enough to take action. Having faith in Jesus Christ means relying completely on Him—trusting in His infinite power, intelligence, and love.” MTC devotionals are generally not made public, but here’s a Church News summary of his and Sister Uchtdorfs’ addresses.

Elder Rasband | Reminds us that like with Joseph Smith in Liberty Jail, the Lord sometimes provides comfort without removing the hardship from which we seek deliverance. Still, the Lord is right there and will be for us too.

Elder Caussé | Shared an analogy from playing Chinese Checkers with his wife, Valérie. Sometimes he’s tempted to quit a match early after making poor starting moves, but he remembers he hasn’t lost yet and it’s not too late. Elder Caussé related this to trusting the Lord and repenting. This "bad start" analogy also reminds me of Elder Gilbert's "Parable of the Slope." Christ cares much more about our next moves (or our slope) than our opening moves (or starting point).

Extra Credit

For you overachievers, the following resources might also pique your interest!

President Oaks | The Prophet doesn’t take himself too seriously. While President of BYU, he mentioned having no desire to bolster his ego with a building named in his honor. His son ribbed him as they passed a utilities building that maybe one day he’d get a plaque for the “Dallin H. Oaks Memorial Hot Air Duct!” President Oaks has a wonderful sense of humor, enough so that he shared the joke in a hilarious devotional. Last week, President Oaks was indeed honored with a plaque, just not for the hot air duct. It was the 50th anniversary of a bell tower. | The Church News Podcast covered some of President Oaks’ recent invitations to ‘be optimistic’ and ‘stay on the covenant path.’

Elder Bednar | We covered this interview a while back, but if you missed it, Elder Bednar shares how he, President Nelson, President Holland, and President Ballard all grew up in homes with less-active, inactive, or non-member parents. He gives good ideas for teaching our children and a funny story about his son barking signals like an American football quarterback at the start of a prayer. Making a Gospel-Centered Family Starts With You.

Elder Kearon | You may have seen this in your recent Come Follow Me study. If not, these videos from the apostles are always great. We Are Children of the Covenant | Come Follow Me.

Reach out and we'll see whether it's a good fit. Clay and Mitch are volunteers dedicated to creating free, faith-building content. It's a labor of love that we treat like a missionary calling, but expenses add up and the time commitment is VERY high. We've got BIG ideas for increasing our reach, improving video quality, and creating useful products for busy Latter-day Saints.

If you, someone you know, or an organization you're aware of are interested in supporting GCA and helping us grow, please email us. We'd love to talk!
