Hello, Doer of the word! Welcome to General Conference+!

GC+ is a special weekly edition of the GCA newsletter, saving you hours of work by bringing you invitations from the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles found anywhere outside of Conference. We look at social media, magazines, devotionals, temple dedications, YouTube, press releases, and more to identify exactly what church leaders asked us to do last week

Here we go!

Invitations

We focus on new invitations, not repeats from Conference or content where we didn’t spot an invitation. Some are direct calls to action; others are implied. GC+ usually includes many more invitations than our standard newsletters, so we won’t provide application ideas…unless we can’t resist! Find an invitation that inspires you, check out the linked source, and share it with somebody.

Note that the church cross-posts both long videos and shorter excerpts of the same content on multiple platforms. We’ll feature only one instance of an invitation if it appeared in multiple places. Social media links will be to Instagram, though you can easily find the same thing on Facebook or X, if you prefer.

President Dallin H. Oaks

  • Instagram: "Trust in the Lord. Come and enjoy His blessings with us. … Christ is the way. Don't try to go it alone as you take this difficult journey through mortality. Come join us as we walk that covenant path toward an eternal destiny that God our Heavenly Father has provided for all of His children upon the earth."

President Henry B. Eyring

  • Instagram: "Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and be His servants as much as [you] can be."

President D. Todd Christofferson

  • Instagram (10/19/2025): "Remember this: there is no substitute for the Holy Ghost. No technology, no other recourse or source can replace the Spirit; hence the importance of remembering our Savior each week as we partake of the sacrament."

  • Instagram (10/21/2025): "I have now seen the calling and setting apart of a Prophet of the Lord twice as an Apostle. First with President Russell M. Nelson and now with President Dallin H. Oaks. Each time I have received a direct witness from the Lord that it was His will." [Implied invitation: Seek for our own "direct witness from the Lord" that it is His will that President Dallin H. Oaks is the Prophet of the Lord.]

    • "Real growth happens most effectively when young people are given opportunities to act and not just be acted upon. Taking ownership for choices deepens personal conviction."

    • "May we each be strengthened in our own discipleship and in our efforts to help as many as we can to become devout, lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

    • "I want you to know that I know that [Jesus Christ] lives. I bless you that it will be your testimony and that you will feel the love and know of His concern and care for you — that you are the sheep of His fold and you can have total confidence and trust in the Resurrected Lord, His Church, His word and His Second Coming."

    • "Just begin; you will find that the Spirit comes."

    • "When speaking to hundreds of high school juniors and seniors on Saturday evening, President Christofferson asked them to look out for each other, to pray more and to take part in sharing the gospel to all the world. He said he hoped the youth would get to know the Prophet, President Oaks, better — and pay attention to what they will hear from him. 'He is anxious to do what the Lord wants him to do.'"

    • "Every teaching must be about Jesus Christ; He must be front and center: 'We are witnesses of Him because it all depends upon Him. We teach in His name, we testify of His name, we use His name, because it is His name that makes it all possible.'"

    • "[F]ull-time missionary Elder Addair Eslava from Mexico, who was assigned to speak Portuguese, said he will apply what President Christofferson taught, 'not just to be a hearer of the word but a doer of the word as well.'"

President Jeffrey R. Holland

  • Instagram: "Regular temple activity is a wonderful way to bring holiness outside it, into our associations in our daily places of employment and activity."

  • YouTube: "Follow just as much as those two or three little scriptures. Use them - Mosiah 26:29, Doctrine and Covenants 58:42, 2 Nephi 31:13 - and you will have peace in your heart."

  • Press Release: "President Jeffrey R. Holland dedicated the Grand Junction Colorado Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, October 19, 2025, and encouraged Church members to serve in the house of the Lord."

  • Temple Dedicatory Prayer (Grand Junction Colorado Temple): "[R]ejoice in the restoration of the keys held by Elijah, he who has the responsibility to shepherd the sealing powers of the kingdom."

Elder David A. Bednar

  • Instagram: "Most of the time we pray like objects. 'Make me better.' 'Make this go away.' That doesn't happen very often. People think, 'well, I didn’t get an answer to my prayer.' Beginning of getting an answer to a prayer is understanding that we are agents to act. Many times God will strengthen us so we become a big part of the answer to our own prayer. He doesn't magically do something to change our circumstances. He changes us in our hearts so we can change our circumstances. Agency is not just choice. Agency is the capacity of independent action. The capacity to act and not be acted upon. That is central to the Father's plan."

Elder Quentin L. Cook

  • Instagram: "No blessing will be withheld from those who are righteous, make and keep sacred covenants with God, and maintain their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ."

Elder Neil L. Andersen

  • Instagram (10/20/2025): "'Wherefore the voice of the Lord is unto the ends of the earth, that all that will hear may hear.' (Doctrine and Covenants 1:11)"

  • Instagram (10/24/2025): "[R]ejoice in the values we share. … May we continue to build bridges of faith and friendship across the world."

Elder Ronald A. Rasband

  • Instagram: "Armed with [God's] power, every covenant-keeping man and woman—married or not—who faithfully keep temple covenants will be blessed in this life and in the life to come."

Elder Gary E. Stevenson

  • YouTube: "I want to share three ways that you can use priesthood keys to bless your life and the life of others. The first is to prepare for missionary service. … Remember, each of you, it is never too early to begin to prepare for your missions. Now the second way to find keys is to attend the temple. … We encourage you to research the names of your ancestors [and] perform proxy baptisms for them. … Finally the third is to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and to keep the commandments that show that we love Him."

Elder Gerrit W. Gong

  • Instagram: "We do not fear AI, nor do we think that AI is the solution to every problem. It's neither the sum of nor the substance of all of our hopes or our fears. There are both issues and concerns, but with a balanced perspective, we think there's a way forward to have a focus on human flourishing and the common good, while mitigating some of the real issues, immediate and coming."

  • YouTube: This is the video of Elder Gong's AI speech. See the invitations in the bullet point below.

    • "Profit-driven technology companies should not be determining society's AI moral compass. … [E]ncourage, support, and incentivize safe and ethical AI."

    • "As moral and faith leaders, we can help our adherents and society adapt to, anticipate, and use AI as a positive tool for good."

    • "Even as we seek to improve AI performance, we need to be careful not to overstate AI reliability; avoid any misimpression that AI can provide independent spiritual or divine revelation; and acknowledge AI systems remain 'black boxes.'"

    • "'What hath God wrought?' is a question we can regularly ask. It can ground us in reality and commit us to ensure AI plays a positive role in human society."

    • "Coming full circle, we need humility, not hubris. We need peacemaking, unity, and moderation when faced with differences."

Elder Ulisses Soares

  • YouTube: "This is a time for us to be united together and do everything that is possible on our part to support one another and share the love that we have in our hearts for our Savior, Jesus Christ."

Elder Patrick Kearon

  • Instagram: "If you have turned away from God, please remember that no matter the reason, and no matter how long you've been away, He wants you back. The Savior's arms are always wide open."

Time Well Spent

  • President D. Todd Christofferson, "One of God's Most Important Gifts", YouTube (invitation included above). President Christofferson powerfully teaches the importance of moral agency. Interestingly, this theme was also taught this week by Elder David A. Bednar (see the bullet point below).

  • Elder David A. Bednar, Instagram (invitation included above). Elder Bednar teaches how to pray like agents, not like objects. He also powerfully teaches this principle using the account of Alma the Elder's people in Mosiah 24. This Instagram reel is an excellent companion to our discussion with Mitch Park in GCA S6 E8 (Amazon Music | Apple Podcasts | Spotify | YouTube).

  • Elder Gong, YouTube (invitations included above). Elder Gong speaks often of AI. As more and more people turn to artificial intelligence to get their questions answered, Elder Gong's concern is that these AI tools need to be able to answer questions about faith and religion correctly. What a tragedy it would be if someone was deterred from learning more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of something incorrect they learned about the Church from an AI tool.

  • Elder Patrick Kearon, Instagram (invitation included above). Elder Kearon speaks with a young woman who recently returned to activity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Not only does this young woman bear a powerful testimony of what she's felt now that she's returned to the Church, but Elder Kearon demonstrates a remarkable ability to interview someone with the love of Jesus Christ.
